Starcom nexus храм падших богов

West from Typhon lies a planet with a Wrae data archive in it, you need the temples to pinpoint the archive on the planet. Typhon is a green star system (how many you have discovered?) :roar:

The main issue with this is that there’s no clue what ‘due west’ means, nor any indication of how far due west one should travel. The obvious conclusion to draw from the incomplete data set is that once you find Typhon to just fly «left» on the map from it, but after several minutes of flying in a straight line, mildly zig-zagging back and forth to expand scanner coverage, no joy. So is it due west on the other side of the galaxy?

This puzzle just feels like there’s one clue missing, even after you find all the temples.

Here are some hints:

1. The planet you are looking for is in the clouds
2. Watch your speed in the clouds, you move slower when flying towards a planet

starcom nexus храм падших богов

Found 3 planets so far in those clouds, only 1 of which is directly west from the star. None of them have any anomalies to explore, what am i missing?

Make that 8 planets and a star

Also found the other thing in there now. still no planet with an anomaly to investigate

Figures. flew right past it the first time around >_ 22 июн. 2019 в 12:29

OK. I went straigt west on the same line as the green star sits.
Entering the clouds, getting RPs for ionic clouds. Doing damage to my ship.
Entering the next cloud. getting RPs for lightning blah in clouds.
Gaining heavy damage. Before i was able to leave the cloud received a second lightning struck
died. and repeat.

what am i doing wrong? 🙂

Probably the first tech many unlock.

What they do:
Gives you an additional weapon, missiles.

How to get them:
You have to find 3 parts of missile launchers. Those get dropped by any ship that fires missiles at you, first of them probably being Chitik Frigates or the larger Battlecruisers of the same race.

What they do:
Give you a speed boost as long as you’re not near a star system.

How to get them:
Quite soon during your travels, you will see a flash and your officer will note that «warp geometrics went off the scale». A small, damaged warp vessel arrived. Investigating it gives you the quest «Primitive Vessel»: To find the planet that launched it (no quest target marker). Finding the planet (anomaly called «Pre-Spacefarers») and then landing on it will give you three points of additional tech research for void travel speed.

The location of this planet is random, see last section of this guide.

What it does:
Decreases the energy consumption of turrets by 10%

How to get it:
Visit the Entarq’s Citadel. It’s slightly off the beaten path at 15.65 X 7.51 (Easiest reached through the portal sequence starting at 10.50 X 0.48 if you’ve never been there). They will ignore you if you initially land there.
Search out an Ulooquo trader, there usually is one in the same system or the one a wormhole down. Purchase «The Story of Entarq’s Citadel» for 35 platinum from them, which will give you the password needed for the Citadel. Upon revisit, purchase «A Progent Turret Mount» for 225 Titanium. This will give you the ability to research this tech.

What it does:
Provides a modest amount of extra energy generation when close to a star.

How to get it:
Unlock/Visit Entarq’s Citadel. How to do that is detailed under «Less turret energy consumption»
Purchase «Unusual crystal shard» for 187 Titanium to unlock this tech.

What they do:
Automated defenses against small objects like asteroids, rockets and drones.

How to get them:
Random location. Somewhere is a Planet with an anomaly titled «Excavation». It’s description is of a massive downed starship that is already partly plundered. One area is still fine thanks to automated sentry turrets. Have your team try to destroy those turrets to access the area. There your team will acquire a small turret device that lets you research this tech.
The location of this planet is random, see last section of this guide.

What they do:
Gives you a hopper drive that enables you to make small ultrafast jumps for plenty of energy.

What it does:
It gives you a message when you’re within a certain distance of a comet. No indication where that comet is, but comets usually fly in elypses around the sun in the system were you’ve got the message.

What they do:
Gives you an additional weapon, lasers, possibly the most useful one in the game.

How to get them:
Like Missiles, «part of a beam weapon» gets dropped by enemies that use lasers. Three of them give you the research possibility.
Examples of enemies that drop them are Sentinel Cutters and Sentinel Cutter Scouts.

What they do:
Gives you the ability to build drone modules, which allow you to send miniature attack craft against the enemy. Like missiles, only reusable and less strong.

What it does:
Long charge time, high damage type weapon. Reminds me of the main laser of the death star.

What it does:
Provides you with your normal scifi energy shield. Running the shield needs no energy, charging it does. Must-have in my opinion.

How to get it:
There is a desert-looking planet with an anomaly called «The Bubble». It’s a single city preserved in a force field bubble on an otherwise dead planet. Help them fix it for 55 Adamantine and they share the shield tech with you.
The location of this planet is random, see last section of this guide.

What it does:
Plasma Bolts that have not yet used up all their damage (eg you have 15 damage/bolt but the enemy had only 10 hp) the plasma bold continues to fly.

How to get it:
Destroy Uloquoo ships. Thankfully, other than missiles etc, you only need a single drop. If they are of friendly disposition (probably achieved by bringing them the egg from the citadel), you might even manage it without them turning hostile. If you can’t seem to target them with lasers or hit them with plasma, ram into them. Targeting worked fine afterwards for me.

What it does:
Helps you capture swarm probes easier.

What it does:
It heals your team from a specific disease. No use outside that specific side mission.

How to get it:
At a random locations you’ll find the anomaly «Strange Jungle», one of those where your option is «Send in a team on foot». This is a repeating anomaly, you can find it a total of four times. If you send your team in, there’s a chance they get spore’d by a fungus. (if you’re determined to get this research, reload an older save if you weren’t «treated to a spray of sticky red spores». you can quicksave right before landing on the planet, the scene that plays is random each time you land). Shortly afterwards you notice your people getting sick.
Ask Pilman back on Kite Station about it and He’ll be the usual jerk but tell you to ask other races. Do just that and ask your old pals the Saurids and you learn about a treatment using the leaves of a kolnar tree. Off to the citadel you go (if you haven’t been there yet, refer to «Less turret energy consumption»), to purchase a «Potted Shrub with Silver Leaves» for 325 Titanium. Talking to Pilman afterwards unlocks the research.
The location of those planets is random, see last section of this guide.

What it does:
Counters the Phage, duh.

This is cheating a bit, but you can find the anomalies marked at random in your world.
This is by looking inside your save file. Even if not discovered yet, the location of those planets should be fixed as soon as a game is started.

Go to your savegame directory, which is at C:\users\(your username)\AppData\LocalLow\Wx3 Labs, LLC\Starcom Nexus\saves
Find a save of your current playthrough, doesn’t have to be the most recent one. Finding the correct file is not that easy if you started multiple plays already, so it’s easiest to just make a new one in game and then sort by date.
Each save consists of two files, QUICKSAVE_(timestamp)_info.json and QUICKSAVE_(timestamp).json. Open the one without «info» in a text editor.

Near to the top, you should see your playerName and shipName to confirm it’s from the playthrough you want.
Then just hit search (ctrl-f) and look for the name of the anomalies mentioned in the guide. Make sure to search case insensitive.
You should find an object (< to >) with type being set to «PlanetData». Scroll just a bit down to the coordinates section. uX and uZ is the approximate position of where you’ll find that planet in ‘your’ universe. That location is not perfectly accurate, it seems it can differ by as much as 0.5 more or less in both dmensions, but it should be easy to find the planets then.
According to commentor cuadro, it’s variation can actually be up to one, not just 0.5

Starcom: Nexus

starcom nexus храм падших богов

I can not implement the cure at the Endless Forest world: there is no option for it in the corresponding quest «chat». And the Tyn Coeden ships have no dialog options since I started the end game event with Eos.

Could anyone advise me how to finish the mentioned quest?

starcom nexus храм падших богов

Assuming you’ve already gotten permission to visit the forest and seen the sickness, you should know it’s a protein issue.

At that point you have to buy a «protein evaluator» (something like that, I can’t remember the exact name) from the blackmarket that sells objects for adamantium. Once you have that you will analyze the proteins automatically.

After this you tell the Tyn Coeden, you can tell any of their ships, and they will cure it. You then go to the homeworld and the forest will be healed and you can enter and get a reward.

If you have already started the Lumae War, you are locked out of your other unfinished quests. You’ll have to open a save prior to your starting the war in order to finish this or any other quest.

starcom nexus храм падших богов

Well, the dev should unlock them. 🙂

Starcom nexus храм падших богов

The only thing I’ve seen related to this is

Searched the areas with mines didn’t get anything, searched by the ships didn’t get anything

Randomly searching the void now. can someone point me to the clue?

starcom nexus храм падших богов

This is a puzzle that may fall on the «too difficult» side of things. Here are some clues that you can reveal individually to point you along.

The Araona commander says you need to get some kind of identifier from the Nest. Have you encountered anything else in the game that talks about a Nest?

There are 4 survey benchmarks in the game that say how far away in «Lir» they are from the «Nest Whirlpool»

You can figure out how far a «Lir» is from any of the benchmarks and your map.

On some graph paper, mark each benchmark. Draw a circle of the correct radius around each one. The point where all circles meet is the nest «whirlpool» (technically you only need 3 benchmarks).

starcom nexus храм падших богов

not difficult when you realize that they are the clue (perhaps when you find the second one, or the third one have a popup to kind of make it more obvious. but really I overlooked reading them because I assumed they were just related to melting the stuff with neutronium

got the worm hole on my first guess, no need to figure out distances

Where they align is the wormhole

Just leaves me with one final question

I have a special project that I never got asked to do (Phage Cure being the top one, the bottom one is blank).

starcom nexus храм падших богов

Flying at the thought align point, south to east of the Planet with the lowest distance. Doesn’t find anything.

By pinpointing: a Lir is

0.5 of the coordinate graph

Does the wormhole have a low detection radius? Do I really have to fly around in the void to get somehow be lucky?

Would love some coordinates.

EDIT: cancel that, just fly like a buzz in the void. found it. And yes it really has a low detection radius, as i had visited that «field» some time ago.

starcom nexus храм падших богов

Re: the special project:

It relates to a minor side-quest that can occur randomly as one of the «strange jungle» events, so doesn’t appear in every game.

starcom nexus храм падших богов

starcom nexus храм падших богов

I don’t think the puzzle is too hard, but a ruler or compass tool to use on the map would be a big quality of life improvement; I don’t like when games make me leave the application to progress.

Maybe make it a little clearer which anomalies apply by adding the species name Aaronian to the survey marker text, too.

starcom nexus храм падших богов

starcom nexus храм падших богов

starcom nexus храм падших богов

starcom nexus храм падших богов

You’ve got two map puzzles in the game so far but no map tools and the seemless map to game transition may prevent you from being able to add many. Maybe have a seperate map ‘workbench’ screen available? Especially if you plan on adding more map puzzles.

Edit: Oooh! Oooh! An astrogation lab at Kite Station!!

starcom nexus храм падших богов

It’s a debated topic on the discord, but I generally agree that this particular puzzle needs something to make it more solvable in-game.

I plan on adding some more map puzzles but probably more exploration/lateral thinking puzzles rather than geometry homework.

Alright Kevin, my earlier remarks were somewhat harsh, but when I realized what the problem was based on the example by someone of what a Lir is, I took a new look. It’s true that to make a pinpoint calculation would involve needless (as in not fun) work, I found it quite easy to guestimate (mental calculations) the position with the information given. I ended up being within 1100 clicks (just what ARE the measurements anyway and why must I ask?) IMO, it isn’t that the puzzles are hard, it is the assumption that players even know what parts are puzzles and what are the rules.
I am well into my third play through so more feedback to come and hopefully I will get even closer this time. Btw, third play through is significant in that it is evidence I like the game (I’m very selective) and that I want to see more of it. I have learned a lot about how not to play and this time things are going much smoother, but even the best games need good documentation and introductions to their precepts.
Btw again, it sure would be helpful to have a search function in the mission logs for cases like this where they would then come up as a group instead of paging through a large portion of the log looking for «benchmark» since it is unlikely all players will find them in chronoligcal order.

Thanks for the continued feedback! A search function would be a good idea— I’ll add it to the suggestion list.

I think it’s fine for the game to have some hard puzzles that the player may not notice, the question is whether this should be one of them, because re-uniting the Araonians is a significant event (but is still optional). It might be something that I revisit later on because some elements will likely be refactored as the late game coalesces.
